The 2020 Volvo S60 has handsome looks matched with reliable technology and safety features that it offers. Comfortably seating five people inside, this is great for a small family. The 2019 Lexus has upgraded the handling capabilities of its base model. There is also an optional Lexus Enform Remote to watch out for. It promises a smooth-sailing ride as well.

Design & Style

The handsome 2020 Volvo S60 has generated a lot of good reviews from car enthusiasts. The great mix between athleticism and contemporary design is one that gains a lot of attention. Side bolstering on the seats is another. For added comfort in front, there are power-adjustable settings for its seats as well. The cabin uses exceptional quality materials too and features clean lines all throughout, and a clutter-free dash.

The Lexus IS is praised too for a great-looking interior. The smooth ride is another thing to look forward to in this ride. The small trunk is an issue for many, though. While it seats five, rear seats lack legroom for taller passengers. Synthetic leather is the only material offered for its seat upholstery.

Technology & Safety

With a very reliable vertical nine-inch touchscreen is still part of the Volvo's Sensus infotainment system, the S60 has even added another feature to make the entire interface even more functional. This is the 12.3-inch digital instrument display. The system supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. It has two USB ports, a satellite radio, and dual-zone automatic climate control. Safety-wise, there is pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, road departure mitigation, forward automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition, oncoming collision mitigation, and automatic high-beam headlights. These are found on top of the usual standard rearview camera.

The infotainment system in the IS is a disappointment though. It works sluggishly and does not respond to commands as promised. The rotary knob does not make the task for the interface even easier. Even the Remote Touch controller carries problems too. It comes with a seven-inch display and two USB ports.

The 2019 IS comes in different engine variations for its various models. As for its IS 300 base model, the four-cylinder engine results in 241 horsepower. There is also an IS 300 with an all-wheel-drive which carries a V6 for 260 horsepower. The last types is the IS 350 whose V6 results in 311 horsepower.

There are also three engine options for the Volvo S60. One is the T5 that carries results of up to 250 horsepower, and the other a T6 that generates 316 horsepower. The T8 plug-in hybrid, on the other hand, includes an electric motor that allows it to reach up to 400 horsepower.

The Bottom Line

The 2020 Volvo S60 is with no doubt a great catch. It oozes with the great appeal from the inside to the outside. You will never go wrong with technologies that it has been blessed with. Of course, you have choices when it comes to engines for its various trim levels.
