Eliminating the T6 from its lineup, the 2020 Volvo V60 introduces a new Polestar Engineered T8. It also has the Cross Country trim to its name. Making it even more appealing is its spacious cabin and upscale interior. In the case of the 2020 BMW X3, there are also more standard features added in its list of offerings. Likewise, it promises a user-friendly infotainment system.

Design & Style

The 2020 Volvo V60 is attractively handsome in the exterior, continuing to live up to Scandinavian design expectations. It has a pretty crafted interior, with the inclusion of leather upholstery as a standard. This is accentuated by wood trims to highlight more of its modern features. On top of that, the wagon has the most comfortable seats that taller passengers will definitely be delighted about. With plenty of legroom to stretch out, long trips will never result in a sore body after.

An impressive SUV from BMW, the X3 is indeed a combination of toughness and luxury as well. This car has a spacious cargo, and also offers spacious seas inside, but taller passengers will find the ride less comfortable when compared to the Q5. The interior has some of the best quality materials too but it lacks the elegance that the Audi can offer.

Technology & Safety

The 2020 Volvo V60 prides itself of the inclusion of a nine-inch touch screen display that allows more functionalities for its Sensus infotainment system. Aside from integrating Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the basic setup includes a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, 10-speaker audio, and satellite radio. It has a long list of safety features including a rearview camera as a standard, together with advanced driver aids, such as lane keep assist, lane departure warning, pedestrian detection, road departure mitigation, forward automatic emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, and oncoming collision mitigation.

The 2020 BMW X3, on the other hand, has the 8.8-inch touchscreen for its iDrive infotainment interface. This, however, lacks support for Android Auto. While it does integrate Apple CarPlay into the system, this feature is free only for a year from the date of purchase. Safety-wise, only pedestrian detection, traffic sign recognition, and forward-collision warning can be found in this ride.

Performance

The 2020 Volvo V60 has the basic T5 setup which carries a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, great enough to generate 250 horsepower. The Polestar Engineered engine in the T8, is a welcome addition with a boost of results amounting to 415 horsepower.

In the case of the BMW X3, the base engine hits up to 248 horsepower, with other engine versions that can reach up to 503 horsepower. That huge number results in problems with having a smooth ride.

The Bottom Line

The 2020 Volvo V60 delights with the plenty of the features that it has been loaded with. There are plenty of modern elements complementing with sporty components, without compromising safety and entertainment for passengers. Its powerful engine setup is something to look forward to in this ride as well.
