The 2020 Volvo V90 no longer offers the Cross Country Volvo Ocean Race. This does not dishearten its avid followers though since it promises a potent engine lineup, and a comprehensive list of technology and safety features.

Promising more standard safety features, the 2020 Lexus ES is also a stunner. It has been fully redesigned by its maker as well.

Design & Style

You will find plenty of room inside the elegant cabin of the sporty-looking 2020 Volvo V90. Part of its standard list of design offerings is the leather-wrapped steering wheel and power adjustments for the front seats. Soft-touch materials add to the total look of its plush and lavish interior. Aluminum and wood accents are also among its stunners.

For the Lexus ES, you will find a trim level that will also create a good impression. As compared to the S90, though, this one only has 17-inch wheels, and LED headlights to boast of. It has a sunroof but is not the same as that of the S90's. Inside it, you will notice that there is a lot of space in the rear. The dash is cleaner but still has a lot of unnecessary buttons on it. A few plastic panels in the cabin will surely be disappointing.

Technology & Safety

You will find a long list of reliable technology and safety features in the V90. There is the reliable nine-inch touchscreen display for its infotainment system. The splitting view in the screen make it easier to access Android Auto and Apple CarPlay with all other cabin settings. Standard safety technologies, meanwhile, include blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert, , forward and rear collision warning, lane keep assist, active steering for collision prevention, automatic emergency braking, road-sign recognition, active bending headlights, driver attention monitoring, distance alert, rain-sensing windshield wipers, front and rear parking sensors, and a rearview camera.

The 2020 Lexus ES, on the other hand, is gifted with a new touchpad interface. Despite this addition, you will find the presence of menus unintuitive for this car. Apple CarPlay integration is also available. Lane keeping assist and lane departure warning, forward collision mitigation, and dynamic cruise control are available for your safety.

The 2020 Lexus ES carries a V6, 3.5-liter engine that allows it to maximize 302 horsepower. The V90, meanwhile, has two engine options. One is the base T5 that comes with a turbocharged engine to generate 250 horsepower. The other is a 2.0-liter combo of a supercharged and turbocharged engine in the T6, which is capable of packing 316 horsepower.

The Bottom Line

Handsomely rugged, the 2020 Volvo V90 does not disappoint in terms of all aspects discussed above. It is packed with excellent components, as well as a reliable set of features to meet the demands of modern-day car drivers. It has potent engines to suit its sporty body as well.
