Car buyers will surely be delighted with the plenty of things to look forward to in the 2020 Volvo XC60. Its previously impressive engine lineup is made even more powerful with the launch of the Polestar Engineered trim. It carries an upscale and spacious interior as well.

The 2020 Acura RDX carries no major changes. It offers good fuel efficiency, though and has plenty of cabin space to seat five adults.

Design & Style

The 2020 XC60 is a world-class SUV with all the design elements that you are looking for in a family's luxury ride. Looking rugged yet classy on the outside, you will definitely admire the use of premium cabin materials inside this car. Taller passengers can now breathe with ease during a trip because there is plenty of legroom and headroom to move around.

When it comes to the 2020 RDX, you cannot fault it for putting in the finest materials inside. This uses synthetic leather upholstery though which deducts points from its looks. The cabin is quite roomy but not as spacious as that of the XC60.

Technology & Safety

The 2020 XC60 is proud to have the nine-inch touchscreen for its Sensus infotainment system. This allows it to integrate smartphone functionalities via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also has 10-speaker audio, satellite radio, and a Bluetooth interface. Advanced driver aids like oncoming lane mitigation, collision mitigation with active braking, driver drowsiness monitoring, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition and run-off road mitigation come with the base trim. Pedestrian, cyclist and large animal detection is also offered with the T5 version. These come on top of the basic rearview camera.

The 2020 RDX has an infotainment system that is gifted with a 10.2-inch touch screen panel. Like the XC60, this is where you can access all functions for all other technologies found in it. It takes time getting familiar with this interface, though. For driver aids, it merely offers a forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring.

2020 XC60 presents four different sets of powertrains, which starts from the base turbocharged engine T5 to generate 250 horsepower. The next version is found in the T6, an engine that is supercharged and turbocharged to produce 316 horsepower. The third one is the T8, which combines the T6 with an electric motor to produce 400 horsepower. Lastly, there is the new Polestar Engineered version for a 415-horsepower rating. Reaching up to 272 horsepower, the 2020 Acura RDX is not really as remarkable as that of the XC60 in this aspect.

The Bottom Line

The 2020 Volvo XC60 is a picture of a truly modern and luxurious ride. It knows how to fuse in the best and safest technologies with its setup. Do not forget that it has a remarkable engine performance as well. This makes it more deserving of a higher ranking than that of the Acura RDX.
