Car buyers will surely be delighted with the plenty of things to look forward to in the 2020 Volvo XC60. Its previously impressive engine lineup is made even more powerful with the launch of the Polestar Engineered trim. It carries an upscale and spacious interior as well.

Offering new standard driver assistance features, there is a reason to take a look at the 2020 Chevrolet Equinox. The user-friendly infotainment system is another.

Design & Style

The 2020 XC60 is a world-class SUV with all the design elements that you are looking for in a family's luxury ride. Looking rugged yet classy on the outside, you will definitely admire the use of premium cabin materials inside this car. Taller passengers can now breathe with ease during a trip because there is plenty of legroom and headroom to move around.

The 2020 Chevrolet Equinox promises an accommodating cabin for five passengers. Note, though, that if you get the optional sunroof, then the back seats will be a bit cramped up for taller adults. Low-rent materials and hard plastics destroy the overall look of the interior.

Technology & Safety

The 2020 XC60 is proud to have the nine-inch touchscreen for its Sensus infotainment system. This allows it to integrate smartphone functionalities via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also has 10-speaker audio, satellite radio, and a Bluetooth interface. Advanced driver aids like oncoming lane mitigation, collision mitigation with active braking, driver drowsiness monitoring, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition and run-off road mitigation come with the base trim. Pedestrian, cyclist and large animal detection is also offered with the T5 version. These come on top of the basic rearview camera.

Standard features in the 2020 Equinox include the Infotainment 3 system with a 7-inch touch screen, a six-speaker audio system, and two USB ports. It has Bluetooth, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a Wi-Fi hot spot too. The interface may be user-friendly but once the screen gets hit by the sun during the ride, it will be hard to read what is displayed there. Safety-wise, the standard list includes a rearview camera, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, forward automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, a rear-seat reminder, pedestrian detection, and Chevy's Teen Driver system.

2020 XC60 presents four different sets of powertrains, which starts from the base turbocharged engine T5 to generate 250 horsepower. The next version is found in the T6, an engine that is supercharged and turbocharged to produce 316 horsepower. The third one is the T8, which combines the T6 with an electric motor to produce 400 horsepower. Lastly, there is the new Polestar Engineered version for a 415-horsepower rating.

There are also two engine versions for the Equinox. The first one is the 1.5-liter, four-cylinder version that only generates up to 170 horsepower. The other is the turbo-four that reaches up to 252 horsepower.

The Bottom Line

The 2020 Volvo XC60 is a picture of a truly modern and luxurious ride. It knows how to fuse in the best and safest technologies with its setup. Do not forget that it has a remarkable engine performance as well.
