• You can make the process easier by turning the ignition on then run your wipers after. While the blades are sweeping across your windshield, you can turn the ignition off. • Locate the release button or tab. This is usually found where the blade meets the arm. Press that button and release it. When done, you can now gently pull the wiper blade away. Most Volvo wiper arms come with a hook-shaped mechanism so that the wiper blades won't run loose while they are being used. The more modern vehicles have simpler adapter systems, though.
• Slide the new blade as far as it goes, until you hear an audible click sound. Close the release tab if necessary. Place the wiper blade back down onto the windshield. Turn your ignition once more and return the wiper to its original off position.
